Mara Patti is the founder of
ONE2ONE College Consulting, a premier college consulting company. Through
ONE2ONE, Mara has helped hundreds of students from around the country gain admission to the colleges and graduate schools of their dreams. Mara’s guidance has been a critical step in helping these students shape their futures.
ONE2ONE’s customized educational services are designed to guide both students and their parents, and they start by Mara’s getting to know each student as an individual – their dreams, aspirations, strengths and opportunities. All of these aspects shape the way she helps her students achieve their academic goals, and informs the process of finding the best “fit” schools.

Every year, Mara visits colleges around the country so that she can always provide the most up-to-date information to her families – a key part of
ONE2ONE’s offerings, particularly at a time when the college admissions landscape is experiencing such uncertainty. Working with a counselor who is armed with the latest information is critical, and Mara prides herself on keeping on top of fast-moving developments.
Her favorite part of her job is seeing the growth of her students through their years of post-secondary education, and her connections can help students find internships, summer programs, community service and volunteer opportunities. Giving back has always been an important facet of Mara’s community involvement; she has worked with Babes Against Cancer through the American Cancer Society and the W20 Foundation.
Mara is a member of the National Association for College Admissions Counseling (NACAC), American School Counselors Association (ASCA), NYSACAC, College Counselors (Admissions and Financial Aid), and associate member of the Independent Educational Counselors Association (IECA). She served previously as the college coordinator and guidance counselor at Bergen County Academies, a public magnet high school in northern New Jersey, where she assisted students through the college application process by coordinating Annual College Fairs and college information sessions, bringing to campus Deans of Admission from highly selective colleges and universities, and facilitating college visits.
